Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, or PCIT, is an evidence-based intervention for children 2-7 years old with disruptive behavior. I offer PCIT via telehealth and coach parents/caregivers to use specific parenting strategies that are proven effective in building warmth in the parent-child relationship, increasing wanted behavior, and reducing disruptive behaviors. PCIT typically lasts 14-
20 sessions with consistent attendance and homework completion, but is not time-limited. Treatment ends when parents achieve mastery of PCIT skills and rate their children’s behavior within normal limits on a behavior rating scale.
